We have reached the only 2 races with a defending state champion and they both hail from Winnetka. Kaner was top 2 years ago and as the second returner is still 3 seconds behind Novelline with their times from that meet. Jansen has been fast all year and is also a good bet for top 6, while Wendel will need to hang on after dropping nearly 3 at sectionals and adding lots of time at state 2 years ago in both races.
I like Dohrn, Armstrong and Bike all to score with Dohrn and Armstrong going top 6. I don’t rule out Bike for top either. Lumsden is a top 6 threat, but Bevers likely gets slower and falls to the bottom. If Novelline doesn’t win, it qualifies as the biggest upset in the meet.
